The impressive "Magical Forest", the Christmas village set up in the Departures area of the airport, was an initiative by Fraport Greece aimed at creating a festive experience for travellers and residents of the city.

This initiative, along with the various activities implemented from December 23 to January 5, served as a meeting point, offering moments of fun and relaxation to all visitors and passengers passing through. Among the activities that delighted children and adults alike were face painting, photoshoots with Santa Claus, special appearances by mascots and stilt walkers, and creative workshops where participants could send letters to Santa Claus and make Christmas cards. Additionally, passengers had the opportunity to collaborate with Santa's elves to create souvenir crafts, an activity that brought joy to participants of all ages.

More than 3,500 people visited the "Magical Forest" during the holidays, reflecting Fraport Greece's strong commitment to combining the promotion of the destinations it operates in with upgrading the travellers' experience.  The company aimed to strengthen the connection between Thessaloniki and its visitors, showcasing the city as a vibrant and attractive destination.

The first day of the activities was attended by local government officials, such as the Deputy Governor of Tourism of Central Macedonia, Mrs. Vicky Hatzivasiliou and the Deputy Mayor of Culture, Tourism Development and Intermunicipal Cooperation of the Municipality of Thessaloniki, Mr. Vasileios Gakis.
