The 14 Fraport Greece Airports Accredited by ACI World regarding the measures taken aiming to curb the spread of the coronavirus
The 14 regional airports operated by Fraport Greece have recently received an accreditation of key importance regarding the measures taken against Covid-19.
The Airports Council International (ACI World) has attested Fraport's Greece commitment towards passengers, employees and other stakeholders, with respect to the implementation of appropriate measures and industry's best practices, aiming to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
The meticulous cleaning and disinfection of all airport areas and surfaces, the information provided to passengers at all airport areas as well as the training of staff on the implementation of every guideline issued by the Public Health Authorities are considered among the main pillars of the ACI Airport Health Accreditation program.
Since the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic, Fraport Greece has invested significantly in educating its employees on responding effectively to the specific health crisis, has provided all the required resources and means for the implementation of the relevant health protocols and for the protection of the health and safety of passengers and every member of the airport community.
Fraport Greece maintains regular communication with all International, European and National Aviation Associations, as well as with the National Organization of Health Care Service Provision, in order to ensure that every airport policy and procedure remains aligned with the latest epidemiological data developments and industry's best practices. All staff members comply with every recommendation and guideline issued by the relevant Health Authorities and Officials, showing their highest degree of responsibility for Public Health and the health of travelers alike.
Following the completion of the major infrastructure development project for the modernization of the 14 regional airports, this accreditation comes as a complement to the sense of safety and comfort generated by the redeveloped airport facilities, for all travelers who choose them as travel destinations.
In this context, Ilias Maragakis, the Chief Operations Officer at Fraport Greece, made the following comment: "From the first day we took over the management and operations of the 14 regional airports, the safety of travelers, employees and of everyone using our airports has been our priority. In view of the new norm imposed by the pandemic, it is our duty to do our best to protect the health and safety of passengers, airport staff members and public health in general. On that note, we strictly follow every protocol and guideline issued by the Authorities and we implement all the measures that protect the airport community from the virus and its further spread. The ACI World Airport Health Accreditation is a further testament that our commitment towards the safety of both passengers and local communities has turned into effective actions."
