Management Board

The Management Board of Fraport Greece manages the company’s strategic and operative business and is responsible for the activities at the 14 Greek regional airports.

Alexander Zinell, Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Alexander Zinell is a business graduate and has been with Fraport since 2001. As from 2003, he held executive positions for six years at Fraport subsidiaries in the U.S. and Turkey. In 2009, he took charge of Fraport’s “Global Investments and Management” unit which is responsible for the Group’s international  airport investments and consultancy activities. Under his leadership, Fraport recently acquired the Airmall subsidiary in the U.S. and thus, opened up access to the world’s largest aviation market. In addition, Fraport successfully acquired new concessions for the operation of the airports in St. Petersburg (Russia), Ljubljana (Slovenia) and the 14 Greek regional airports.

Vangelis Baltas, Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Vangelis Baltas began his career in the investment banking division of HSBC. From 2007 to 2016, he served as Chief Business Development Officer at Copelouzos Group, where he was responsible for the Group’s investment strategy and its participation in Athens International Airport. Between 2011 and July 2016, he was a member of the Board of Directors at Northern Capital Gateway, the company managing the concession for Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg, Russia. In parallel, since 2012 he has been part of the leadership team representing the Fraport Greece–Copelouzos Group consortium in the concession of 14 Greek regional airports. In 2016, Mr. Baltas assumed the role of General Financial Officer at Fraport Greece, a position he continues to hold. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Boston University and a Master’s degree in Finance from Bentley University.

Andreas Karvelas, Chief Technical Officer (CTO)

Andreas Karvelas

Andreas Karvelas was part of the leading team which completed the expansion and upgrade of the 14 regional airports under concession to Fraport Greece. He has 40 years of management experience in large-scale projects, including power plants, airports, railways, renewable sources etc. He was Deputy CTO of Fraport Greece until 13 May 2022, when he became CTO. He has contributed significantly to company’s development and growth throughout its first 6 years. Other past positions include technical director of Copelouzos Group, projects director of MΕΤΚΑ, technical director of EΤΕΚΑ.

Panagiotis Spyratos, Chief Operations Officer (COO)

Panagiotis Spyratos

Panagiotis Spyratos is the Chief Operations Officer (COO) of Fraport Greece since October 2022. He has over 25 years of experience in the aviation industry, having held senior positions at both Fraport Greece and Athens International Airport, where he worked in key operational positions for 17 years. Panagiotis holds a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (USA), an Executive MBA from ALBA Graduate Business School, and an FAA Commercial Pilot License.
